The Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic sales person to help grow our organization. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in membership or relationship selling, be a motivated self-starter and familiar with chamber work and the Sherburne County area. This position is responsible for recruiting new members to the Chamber, helping to retain current members and the development of additional non-dues revenue. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills are a must. JOB DESCRIPTION Business Development Coordinator Job Purpose: The position is responsible for recruiting new chamber members and development of new business programs to assist in the growth of the organization. Reports to: The Executive Director of the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce. Compensation : Wage is based on experience and includes base plus commission. Commission will start after the minimum sales threshold has been reached. Major Job Accountabilities: Create and maintain a list of prospective chamber members Meet with potential chamber members to provide information and outline benefits of chamber membership to secure new chamber members and grow the organization according to goals and objectives Assist in the sale of other chamber programs and sponsorships to increase Chamber income. Manage and execute the ERACC Golf Tournament Manage and execute other chamber fundraising programs Develop and facilitate non-dues revenue programs to enhance the chamber's presence and value in the community. Attend member meetings, events and programs as required Other job-related duties as assigned. Other Duties - Engage in the community as needed to be a visible face of the chamber to the community. - Participate in networking opportunities to solicit prospects for the chamber. - Team player that will assist when needed outside the normal scope of responsibilities. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to represent the Chamber in a professional and enthusiastic manner, consistent with the Chamber’s mission and vision. Position requires ability to generate and follow up on leads, schedule appointments Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills Good knowledge and overview of all chamber member benefits, events and activities. Qualifications: - Candidate must possess an undergraduate degree in a related field of study (business, marketing, public relations) - 3 plus years of proven sales success and experience in a sales position. - Professional presence and strong interpersonal skills required - Must have a valid driver’s license and provide own transportation - The position requires the ability to navigate stairways and the ability to lift and carry 25 pounds.
