Description Job Summary: The Medical Scheduling Specialist performs work in a patient scheduling position involving the use of computerized information systems to perform patient scheduling, registration, and insurance verification, if applicable. They will handle a large volume of incoming calls and navigate between multiple systems to schedule with various clinics and departments. This person will be the first point of contact with patients and ensure their needs are met. This person will be working in a fast-paced environment where they will be expected to display strong customer service and communication skills to properly assist patients. Responsibilities Schedules multiple types of appointments for patients using the provider's scheduling systems. Confirms patient appointments and provides patient education by explaining pre-appointment. and patient instructions for the scheduled procedure following scheduling protocols. Responds to calls from patients, physicians, physicians' office staff, peers, and determines the urgency of the situation along with suggesting appropriate referrals and appointments. Supports an exceptional experience through all patient interactions, ensuring professional, timely and accurate communication - both verbally and in writing Multitasks between a variety of technology, systems, tools, and resources to support departmental workflows. Qualifications: Must be able to complete and clear background check S.
