Job Description **DUE TO NEW CMS REGULATIONS, OUR TEAM WILL ADHERE TO FEDERAL RULES AND GUIDELINES REGARDING COVID TESTING** General Purpose: Assist in the repair, upkeep, and maintenance of the building, grounds, and equipment. Essential Job Functions: * Perform any and all duties concerned with electrical, heating, cooling, plumbing, painting, floor care, and various equipment. * Perform assigned housekeeping duties including trash remove, mopping, cleaning, etc. in accordance with facility policy. * Address and correct work orders to maintain building and equipment operation. * Assist in the purchasing of supplies and equipment for departmental operation, may require vehicle operation. * Assist in the supervision of outside contractor services. * Assist in the inspection of building, equipment, and grounds on a regular basis to ensure compliance with codes and regulations and to maintain proper operation. * Perform work in an inside or outside environment with variable temperatures and variable lighting, where possible exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens and unpleasant sights and smells may be present. * Maintain knowledge of chemicals contained within the facility. * Perform work while following infection control procedures. * Maintain a safe and sanitary environment. * Use proper body mechanics and ask for assistance when moving heavy objects. * Must be adaptable, flexible to changes, and able to prioritize and organize work efficiently to accomplish workload within time allotted. * Maintain a positive attitude in relation to customer service program. * Complies with established safety rules and regulations. * Promptly reports accidents, incidents, and unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment to supervisor. * Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding resident’s rights. * Abides by the facility’s policies, procedures and practices. * Participates in and supports Quality efforts throughout the facility. * Attends meetings and mandatory in-services. * Knowledge and adherence to safety/disaster preparedness plan. * All other duties as needed. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent is preferred. * Experience in health care is preferred. * Must have the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job. * Knowledge of or ability to learn position procedures, techniques and equipment. * Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident’s families and employees. * Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance. * Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required. This requirement also includes drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry. * Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
