Description: nThe primary responsibility of a lifeguard is to ensure patron safety and protect lives, including their own. The most important duty the lifeguard has in meeting that responsibility is patron surveillance, keeping a close watch over people in the facility. n n Job Summary: n - Maintain continuous surveillance of people in swimming pools n - Ensure appropriate headcount of people involved in a watersport on an hourly basis n - Call out warnings to people who may have ventured too far or are in imminent danger n - Provide safety information to people prior to them indulging in a water sport n - Supervise swimmers to ensure that they are swimming within the safety protocols n - Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents n - Control and report unruly behavior and evict individuals not adhering to behavior protocols n - Perform rescues in the event of drowning or swimming accidents n - Perform first aid and CPR according to the demands of adverse situations n - Teach swimming techniques and safety education to new swimmers n - Check safety of equipment and perform needed maintenance n n Qualifications: n - 15 years of age or older n - Comfort in water n - Desire to work with kids n - Ability to do basic skills in water n - Holds current certification in Lifeguard Training by a nationally recognized training organization. n - Concussion training required (provided by employer), CPR/ AED and First Aid training recommended. n n n Application Procedure: nApply online n n " }
