Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. is opening a Residential Treatment Center in Big Lake, MN around August, 2021. Be a part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team working in an inpatient setting providing treatment to patients experiencing substance use challenges. We are seeking a full-time LPN for the Residential Treatment Center opening August, 2021. General hours for this position are: Monday - Friday: 40-45 hours per week Responsibilities: Assisting the client in developing optimal independence in living or assisting with Activities of Daily Living as needed. · Completing assigned unit tasks. · Monitoring, reporting and appropriately documenting interactions with client. · Collecting and reporting data about physical and mental health needs of the client. · Responding appropriately to client’s physical and mental health needs. Documenting interactions, plans and client responses to interventions offered. · Assisting the RN in planning and implementation of the nursing plan of care and/or multi-disciplinary plans of care. · Responding immediately and appropriately to emergency situations to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. · Maintaining professional boundaries in a manner that creates a positive and caring environment and an accepting attitude towards diversity in people · Independently or in collaboration with Program Coordinator, determine appropriateness of admission for consumers based on assessment and ASAM Criteria, pre-existing and current medical conditions. · Coordinate physical exams for every consumer within 24 hours of admission. · Administering medications, treatments, and other therapies following the practitioner’s orders and treatment plan for the client. · Ensuring Medication Administration Records are updated to reflect medication changes · Coordinate prescription refills · Assist Residential Clinician in transferring consumer's medical and psychiatric needs upon discharge · Order and review labs as requested by the prescriber · Assess clients for medication efficacy and/or side effects · Provide medication education/medication groups for consumers · Coordinate medication concerns with prescriber · Make PCP referrals prior to discharge, as needed · Assist with milieu management, as needed · Demonstrates knowledge and skills to develop therapeutic alliance with clients and to work effectively and with cultural competence with clients from diverse backgrounds. · Order/stock and reconcile the medication cabinets and order OTC and medical supplies. · Ensure compliance with the Health Department, DHS, and OSHA regulations · Complete and submit reports on all medication errors. · Perform routine medical procedures (vitals, including blood pressure, oxygen levels, temperature, blood alcohol levels, drug testing, pregnancy testing). · Collaborate with clinicians in education and harm reduction initiatives from substance use (may include needle exchange, HIV, HEP B and C, TB and STI testing Benefits/Compensation Nystrom & Associates, Ltd. prides itself on the competitive benefits & compensation provided to our Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors.
