This is a remote-eligible position based out of our Financial Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota. JOB SUMMARY The IT Software Engineer creates deliverables and collaborates in the construction of internal software applications, components, integration of purchased applications and tools based on use cases, software technical designs and delivery of solutions based on technical and functional requirements and specifications. Individual adheres to software engineering practices that are followed by the software engineering discipline. Participates with others in designing and implementing technology that is consistent with the Stearns Bank Technology Architecture vision. Proficient in at least one technology and the tools used in the Stearns Bank environment (Apex, Java/J2EE, C#, PHP, Python, XML). Utilizes and engages software development life cycle methodology practices, IT process, standards and tools in approach to and management of development efforts. RESPONSIBILITIES Planning and Organizing Provides estimates for work efforts Understand project work priorities. Plans work to fulfill priorities of assigned individual and team tasks Analysis and Evaluating Analyzes variances between design and actual operation to isolate code sections which require modifications to operate per design Subdivide the problem area into its constituent parts Identifies risks, recognizes impact and provides mitigation plan associated with design, application, hardware, environment Contributes to definition of Stearns Bank process, development and tool standards Concept Development and Design Develops technical designs in accordance with Stearns Bank standards Plans, facilitates and contributes to design, coding and test reviews Researches and solicits from users, specific needs to be met with software application solutions. Works with internal clients and other Stearns Bank staff to identify and define needs and problems which can be addressed with a software application solution Maintains and documents Stearns Bank code standards as needed Maintains and documents Stearns Bank design methodology and documents as needed Performs code reviews to ensure that feature functionality and design are met Recommends changes to Stearns Bank architecture and application as applicable to meet Stearns Bank business initiatives Implementation Creates code from design in accordance with Stearns Bank standards Creates and executes test suites and scripts Documents code in accordance with Stearns Bank standards Uses source control tool in accordance with Stearns Bank standards Recommends corrective solutions and alternatives and generates innovative approaches and solutions to complex problems Assures consistency, efficiency and quality in the selection of tools, techniques and processes Understands the use of industry tools and technology and how their implementation affects project goals Creates support documentation as applicable on corrective action to take when known issues occur Ability to provide 24/7 support as needed by the business Communication Good communications skills both verbal and written; effective in a variety of informal and formal settings.
