The Human Resources department of the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John's University (SJU) invites applications for the full-time, benefit-eligible position of Human Resources Assistant. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant serves a key role for the department in office management, events planning, assistance to the HR team, and customer service to current and prospective employees. The Human Resources department is a joint department, within the CSB and SJU divisions of Finance and Administration with offices on both the CSB and SJU campuses. The College of Saint Benedict (CSB) is a liberal arts college for women, and Saint John's University (SJU) is a liberal arts college for men and a graduate School of Theology for both men and women and is also the home of the Hill Museum andamp; Manuscript Library and the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical and Cultural Research. Office Management: Manage daily office operations and workflow, including but not limited to: preparing correspondence; distributing mail; scheduling appointments; ordering supplies; processing employment transactions; entering data in the HRIS (Banner); and managing records retention. Serve as department receptionist welcoming employees and visitors, and provide exceptional customer service. Process employment verifications, and respond to other inquiries for HR information in a timely and professional manner. Maintain and update the department's web/intranet pages. Train, assign work, and supervise student staff member. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and HR Partners. Assistance to HR Team: Provide support to the HR Partners and Benefits staff in recruitment and benefits administration, including but not limited to: Assist with recruitment advertising, responding to inquiries from applicants, and forwarding applications to search committees. Process pre-employment background check requests. Assist with processing and tracking of faculty contracts. Prepare appointment notices and facilitate the HR onboarding process for new employees. Process employment change authorizations and temporary appointment requests.
