WEEKEND ONLY! 16 hours per month and 2 holidays per year. The Home Health Aide is a vital role and staff can expect to: -Perform designated tasks under the immediate supervision of a nurse. -Function as a member of the Home Care team and demonstrate accuracy, reliability and safety in caring for clients. -Assist with ADLs (activities of daily living) including dressing, grooming, bathing, pericare, ambulation, foot care, nail care, transfers and rehab. -Complete as instructed by the RN (blood glucose monitors, oxymeter reading, oxygen monitoring, skin care, medication administration). QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE: -Current certification on the MN Nursing Registry required -High School Diploma or GED graduate -Six months experience or more as a HHA or CNA working with cognitively impaired adults in their home or a facility. -Basic Life Support (BLS) required per established policy. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: - Ability to read and communicate effectively in English - Verbally communicate in a clear, precise manner, using a calm, pleasant tone of voice - Ability to communicate effectively with the elderly population - Read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, procedures and memos - Willingness to acquire additional training for medication management and Assisted Living Home Care - Ability to recognize the need for assistance and follow directions - Professional and courteous customer service skills CentraCare Health and Carris Health have made a commitment to diversity in its workforce.
