The Foundry Engineer determines the most efficient tooling design and configuration to profitably produce castings within customer specifications. What You'll Do: • Work with production control and other departments to ensure trouble-free and timely start-up of new jobs and engineering changes • Prepare documentation of new work and set dates for completion of tooling, sampling, pilot runs, layouts, etc. • Track, record and report progress • Initiate communication with customers and tooling vendors on status and act as liaison on new job start-up, casting design and cost-reduction proposals • Suggest design changes to enhance value on existing and new designs • Communicate with Sales Department on product development, tooling designs and new job status • Communicate required changes to appropriate plant personnel • Participate in the Cost Estimate Requisitions (CER's) process by developing estimates of tooling design, yield, and cost Why You’ll Love Working for Us: • Competitive wages and benefits • Low-cost, comprehensive insurance plans • Paid vacations and holidays What We Need from You: • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent • Three to five years of experience • Supervise highly diversified journey work and formulate new approaches • Administrative supervision of staff function • Formulate and apply technical practices • Environment: General office working conditions, infrequent shop exposure or travel 10-30% of time • Exhibit superior safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all times • Extend treatment to all other associates of the Company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customers • Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail • Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures .
