Job Description Description: IMV Technologies service technician daily duties include: - Install, repair, give preventative service to equipment used in laboratory environments (medical, veterinary, agriculture); on site and in dedicated workshop - Assist customers with equipment-related issues, via phone, email, Internet or in person; includes being part of a three-person, on-call team that offers 24/7 customer support. - Train (learn) and update skills related to the use, installation and repair of IMV distributed equipment - Prepare reports relating to jobs completed, or in process (equipment repair, maintenance, installation) - Train or assist in the training of customers, distributors and other IMV employees staff in the use, repair or maintenance of IMV or related equipment - Request and maintain accurate records relating to shop tools, parts and equipment used while on the job - Support sales managers and staff in the promotion of equipment, services, service contracts and other solutions. - Other tasks based on skill may include aid in procurement of parts and tools. - Work collaboratively in managed or special projects toward the achievement of customer-oriented goals, including leading teams in the completion of projects. Work environment: - Workshop headquartered in Maple Grove; or, - On site at customer facilities including: laboratories adjacent to animal facilities; laboratories, clinics, hospitals and University research facilities (human medicine and veterinary medicine); research facilities associated with pharmaceutical companies or government institutions. Travel requirement: “Road warrior”; up to 60%; reimbursed travel expenses. Territory: Mostly domestic, but may include North America and corporate headquarters in Europe. Skills required: - Minimum of 4 years of experience in any of the following: mechanical, electrical, computer or pneumatics. Other must-have requirements: - Able to work independently, in remote locations - Focused and self-motivated - Great organizational skills - Comfortable in changing environments - Ability to work under pressure (time) and with a variety of people, levels of experience and personalities - Great oral/written communication skills - Live within commuting distance from the office in Maple Grove, Minnesota and the MSP airport. - Strong problem-solving skills - Proficient at Microsoft Windows applications including: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, Teams - Ability to obtain a passport - Valid driver’s license and clean driving record PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: - Continually required to sit/stand/kneel, up to 8 hours - Ability to safely perform physical tasks including: lifting, pulling and carrying equipment (up to 60lbs) - Frequently required to work in cool/cold temperatures (conventional refrigeration, between 2 and 8 degrees C). - Ability to drive or fly (depends on work site) - Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity - Frequently required to speak, listen and interpret customer concerns into actionable solutions. - Exposure to farm environments, hospital environments and farm animals - Ability to observe, recognize and interpret color coding in wires, sensors, lights, etc. - Ability to interpret printed or digital schematics, wiring guidelines and written technical instructions or manuals. Preferred not required: - Bilingual (English and Spanish or French) - Exposure to agricultural, vet or medical industry Bonus potential: - Up to 10% of base pay
