Need 10 full time, temporary, seasonal Farmworkers/Laborers to work in Foley, MN. From: 06/26/2024 to 11/06/2024 Work: 35 hrs./week, Mon.-Fri. 6 hrs/day, Sat. 5 hrs./day As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Must Apply By: 09/01/2024 JOB DUTIES: Plant, cultivate and harvest vegetables. Using hand tools. Till soil, weed and thin plants, pick rocks and transplant plants by hand. Hand-pick all vegetables produced and tie vegetables in bunches. Grade, size and field pack product. Mow, cut, and weed fields, perform ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation, and other manual tasks. Bending, stooping and kneeling required. Use power equipment including but not limited to tractors, planters, mowers, plows, sprayers, cultivators, power shears, chain saws, high lifts, forklifts, skid loaders. Must operate agricultural equipment safely, with or without direction. Install/maintain irrigation systems and water lines. Move and install irrigation pipes and equipment. Bunch/bundle product pursuant to supervisor instructions. Fill bins/trays and other containers with product, level bins, and prepare product for shipment to market or storage. Perform quality control on inbound /outbound loads. Follow quality control standards and production procedures. Lift, carry, and load/unload products or supplies. Palletize and stack boxes/containers. Operate equipment safely, with or without direction. Assist with regular maintenance on equipment. Clean/sanitize workstation and equipment. Workers may assist in handling product weighing up to 50 pounds and lifting to a height of 4 feet. Workers must work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. Work required in fields when plants are wet with dew and rain, and may be required during light rain, snow, moderate winds, direct sun, high humidity and extreme temperatures. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, honeybees, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, or related chemicals may affect a worker's ability to perform the job. Workers should be able to do the work required with reasonable accommodations. Workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may be required to drive company vehicles or asked to drive other workers. Persons seeking employment in this position must be available the entire contract. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker employed pursuant to this job order, at the company's sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 3 months experience working on a commercial agricultural operation handling both manual and mechanized tasks associated with commodity production; employment reference to verify prior experience; must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.; must be able to perform work that requires: bending, stooping, kneeling, extensive walking, and repetitive movements; employer-paid post-hire drug testing is required upon reasonable suspicion of use; workers with a clean driving record (no major moving violations such as but not limited to Driving While Intoxicated or Reckless Driving) and able to obtain an insurable driver's license may be required to drive company vehicles. No minimum education required. Employer may request, but not require, workers to work more than the stated daily hours and/or on a worker s Sabbath or federal holidays. Workers will have an unpaid lunch break. Worker must report to work at designated time and place each day. Daily or weekly work schedule may vary due to weather, sunlight, temperature, crop conditions, and other factors. Employer will notify workers of any change to start time. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
