Full job description Position: Executive Director Reports to: Athlos Academy of St. Cloud School Board Reporting Year: 24-25 School Year: July 1, 2-2024-June 30, 2025. Salary Range: CompetitiveSalary and Benefits, depends on experience Minimum Qualifications Required: Education: Master’s Degree in Education Administration or related field. Certification Required: Principal Certificate and/or Education Administrator License. Experience required: Minimum of 3 years of successful teaching and/or school leadership experience in a multi-cultural/diverse setting. Experience in a school leadership role. In addition to overseeing all school operations, the Executive Director is the instructional leader and holds primary responsibility for ensuring the academic achievement of all students at high levels. The Executive Director will set instructional direction and develop and manage the school’s academic program and will support, develop, and evaluate instructional staff within the school mission and charter application. For all other school functions, the Executive Director will partner with the Director of Operations. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors. Job Duties: - Acts as School Leader. - Model the Athlos culture. - Collaborates with the Director of Operations and department leaders to establish a culture of excellence that values the individual and embraces the group - Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and outside agencies. - Maintains a positive and safe school climate for the purpose of providing a safe and healthy educational setting for staff and students. - Guides implementation and execution of teaching strategies and school-wide structures in the school program in accordance with the Athlos model. - Provides leadership and support on adopting research-proven, standards-based, student-centered instructional practices. - Leads teachers in creating coherency in instructional practices and routines within the school that model a growth mindset. - Assists teachers in effectively gathering and using relevant student data to improve instruction. - Establishes the school educational plan for the purpose of meeting academic needs of the students. - Plans/ensures high-quality curriculum design and delivery for the purpose of meeting state standards, program goals and students needs. - Prepares/presents data for the purpose of keeping a variety of reports, records, and statistical data regarding assessments, attendance, etc. - Serves as administrative and instructional leader for the purpose of aligning state standards with program goals. - Supervises/evaluates staff for the purpose of improving instructional services. - Works with the Assistant Principal with student achievement goals. - In partnership with the Director of Operations and with support from department leaders, develops/implements staff development opportunities or the purpose of professional growth in literacy, math, content, delivery, innovative instructional practices, and culturally responsive teaching. - In partnership with the Director of Operations, develops the Master Schedule for the purpose of having a well-planned class schedule. - In partnership with the Director of Operations and the Finance Director, develops/administers the school’s budget for the purpose of providing a sound and coherent educational program. - Ensures compliance with all federal, state, county and school charter laws for the purpose of adhering to all mandates. - In partnership with the Director of Operations, oversee transportation and food service to ensure efficiently. - Supports the implementation of Athlos Academy policies and procedures for the purpose of adherence to all procedures and policies. - In partnership with the Director of Operations, maintains a collaborative relationship with the School Board in which discussions and decisions are centered around the mission and vision of the school. school finance, and school year planning and growth. - Ensures that teachers are implementing special education services in accordance with federal and state law. - Work with the Special Education Department leader to oversee programming and IEP plans. - Supports the implementation of the Athlos Behavior Management philosophy that utilizes aspects of PBIS and restorative practices. - Supervises student movement, serve as a student discipline officer, counsel students regarding school behavioral issues, communicate with parents and process suspension cases. - Work with the school Social Worker to oversee programs/efforts such as performance character curriculum, anti-bullying, student mediation, and 504 plans. - Serve as a member of the Crisis Management Team. - Be willing to go outside of their job description to ensure school success including work on the weekends and after normal operating hours if needed. - Performs other duties as assigned.
