MOST IMPORTANTLY we must keep our employees safe and ensure they go home each day to their families just as they left them.This position will support a 24/7 manufacturing operation to drive continuous improvement of key performance metrics through project management and facility initiatives. This role will coordinate with the site leadership team, functional management, HR and support return to work programs and other corporate initiatives.Responsibilities include:Provide leadership on the administration of the overall EHS and Sustainability programs.Collaborating with Process Safety Management, Wastewater Operations and Operations Management.Develop and lead plant resource conservation programs in water, wastewater, energy, and recycling.Achieve consensus on the planned objectives while monitoring the progress against those objectives.Complete and/or approve all required regulatory and company reporting documents.Perform job hazard analyses within the plant.Assist the plant management team with the development and execution of action plans for the improvement of safety and environmental performance.Effectively development and utilize plant environmental safety teams and resources.Keep supervisor/management personnel apprised of hazardous conditions and unsafe practices.Utilize proven methodology to determine root cause while developing effective solutions.Lead all aspects of the safety function including compliance initiatives (Federal and State OSHA/EPA), training development, risk assessment, reporting and the development, delivery and maintenance of training programs reinforcing a safety culture that promotes an injury free workplace.Work closely with EHandS corporate staff to implement the company's EHandS program initiatives.Conducting routine compliance inspections and complete reporting requirements for environmental compliance programs (Ex. Air emissions, SPCC, storm water, spill reporting, hazardous waste, wastewater, etc.).Develop focused communications and issues resolutions plan related to compliance.Experience-Education (Required):Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety or an Engineering discipline is preferred.Minimum of five (5) years' experience in environmental, health and safety in a manufacturing environment required. (Preferably 100 employees or greater)Competencies-Skills (Required):Strong technical background in Safety, Environmental regulations, ergonomics, and behavior-based safety.Proven problem solving/judgment and group facilitation and presentation skills.Experience in waste/energy conservation.Managerial courage, ethics and ability to build effective relationships working closely with employees at all levels of the company.Proficiency in applicable computer and software use.Capable of leading change in a diverse business environment.Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EHS regulations.Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.Experience and career history with "Fortune 500" type companies strongly desired.Experience-Education (Preferred):Certifications Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Industrial Hygienis
