Diploma - Highly Qualified status - HQ status as defined by one of the following standards: - 60 semester college credits with a G.P.A. of 2.0 or higher - ParaPro exam (passing score of 460 or higher, http://www.ets.org ) - Portfolio (Para elink completion of modules with accompanying portfolio documenting cmpetencies, http://ici.umn.edu/elink/index.html ) Preferred - Similar job related experience - Bilingual POSITION SUMMARY: Under direction of the building administrator and the direct day to day supervision of the EL Classroom teacher(s), the EL/ESL Paraeducator provides instructional support to students needing assistance with English as a Second Language. This includes helping students with English concepts and skills and especially in their acquisition to function meaningfully in mainstream classes.
