The System Engineering Manager of Integration and Test will be responsible for developing and managing an innovative organization of engineers and technicians within Medtronic Neuromodulation. In support of the development process, the manager will lead efforts of system integration, verification and validation activities while partnering within the matrix organization to provide complete test coverage of Neuromodulation systems. This position responsibilities include planning, driving and completing projects in a timely fashion to support organizational goals. This position will ensure documentation and deliverables meet quality system requirements. This position will also provide lab management responsibilities, including maintaining equipment personal and test equipment. This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her team to drive continuous improvement of the processes and procedures related to integration, verification and validation. A Day in the Life Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned - Lead, direct and review the work of individual contributors on the systems engineering test team to achieve organizational goals - Lead systems integration, verification and validation activities in support of business priorities - Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function - Ensure quality system compliance for documentation and deliverables - Ensure programs have robust risk burndown plans - Lead multiple system engineering teams in the product development life cycle including identification, planning, monitoring, and executing tasks for entire project - Collaborate with project leaders for appropriate resource planning and scheduling on all projects - Build positive partnerships with other functional leaders across Medtronic Neuromodulation. - Participate in continuous improvement of departmental processes to achieve strategic goals - Lead management of facilities, equipment and personal in support of the engineering labs Must Have: Minimum Requirements - Bachelors degree required in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar discipline - Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience Nice to Have - Experience planning and leading systems integration, verification and validation strategy and testing - Strong people leadership skills and strong collaboration and cross-discipline focus - Excellent verbal and writing skills, including presenting - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others on cross-functional teams - Experience that demonstrates strong project management skills and leading teams to successful completion(planning, estimation, work breakdown, task definition and scheduling, work direction and motivation) - Experience building and maintaining automated test systems - Experience building high functioning teams. - 5+ years regulated medical device development environment - Experience working in a matrix environment. - Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement - Experience interfacing with physician customers and therapy consultants - Experience developing software applications - Experience developing hardware - Knowledge of engineering statistical tools/methods such as DOE, Monte Carlo, Minitab, ANOVA, (DFLS, DFSS, or DRM Green or Black Belt certification a plus) - Demonstrated balance of high level strategic and detailed tactical thought processes and judgment - Experience selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel Demonstrated strong influence management skills About Medtronic Together, we can change healthcare worldwide.
