Engine Design Engineer II - 297870 Description Work with the Engineering Manager and other personnel to establish specifications and design requirements for new or revised designs for engines and components. Design and analyze layouts, components, and detail drawings for engines through coordination with the Engineering Manager and design team. Utilize 3D modeling software (Siemens NX or Pro/E) to produce and revise models and drawings, and/or work with CAD designers to produce 3D models and drawings of new and revised designs, ensuring completeness. Perform analysis and calculations for engine component designs using computer-based analysis and simulation techniques which may include FEA, CFD, and dynamic simulation tools. Research and recommend material options for the design. Provide efficient and timely completion of all drawings, calculations, bills of materials, and cost objectives according to project schedules. Work closely with purchasing, suppliers, and in-house resources to procure and fabricate prototype parts in a timely manner for prototyping plans on new parts and engines. Work closely with development and test engineers to create appropriate test and validation plans for new and revised designs, participating in timely execution of those test plans to ensure high reliability and performance that meet or exceed the design requirements.
