Location: SCSU Main Campus, 720 Fourth Avenue South, St. Cloud MN 56301 Full/Part Time: Part Time Employment Condition: Probationary Job Description: This position is responsible/exists for providing leadership and education in support of Non-Traditional University students completing their education. This includes the day-to-day operations of an Early Care and Education Classroom. This position is responsible for the selection, training and supervision of the student staff and management of the services they provide. This position provides guidance for both student staff and parents in community development, crisis management, response to emergency situations and conflict resolution. This position develops and implements a curriculum based on evaluation and assessment on two levels; one for the children attending the program and one for the SCSU student staff. This position supports the growth and early childhood development of children of university students, faculty, and staff within the framework of a loving, accepting, and respectful child care facility. The environment and curriculum are the ultimate responsibility of the teacher. Position Responsibilities: - Lead and educate student worker staff - Student and faculty parent development - Curriculum development/implementation and assessment - Administrative responsibilities - External department collaboration Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or Child and Family Studies - Two years of professional experience as a teacher in a child care setting - Minnesota Dept. of Education (Birth – Grade 3) teaching license - Experience working with parents and families in an early learning setting - Experience working with diverse communities and/or multilingual families - Certification in First Aid and CPR - Must be able to lift and carry young children Preferred Qualifications: - Experience leading student workers - Experience as a lead teacher or teacher of record in an early learning setting - Experience with curriculum development at the early childhood level About: Founded in 1869, St. Cloud State is an award-winning regional public university and proud member of the Minnesota State Universities & Colleges system.
