We are looking for people who are keen to try something new: This position will lead a team of 10-15 staff across 3 shifts. They will be responsible for staffing, discipline, and performance reviews for that team. They will also be responsible for the overall performance of that team. This person will be a member of the local leadership team and will interface with that leadership group to ensure resources are properly deployed to align with product flow from production. They will be the primary contact for shipping related problems and troubleshooting both internally and with our shipping vendors. They will also interact with internal and external resources to drive continuous improvement activities, with the ultimate goal of delighting our customers. Perform all duties inherent in a leadership role. Evaluate team/staff performance to departmental goals and objectives. Administer corporate policies and procedures. Recommend hiring, promotion, corrective action, termination, and salary actions. Ensure appropriate staff training/cross-training. Coach and develop individual performance, resolve conflict, and coordinate team effort. Communicate objectives, priorities and expectations to all team peers. Assist in developing quarterly and yearly objectives, goals, budgets and personnel plans based on corporate objectives and team requirements. Supervise and maintain a self-directed and cross-functional work environment covering activities. Document and maintain procedures needed to support team activities. Remain current on specific customer requirements and specifications. Maintain and requisition equipment and supplies in order to ensure maximum throughput. Initiate and monitor a JIT supplies inventory. Audit storage and staging areas for optimum utilization of space management, protection to product, safety, environment, cleanliness, and inventory accuracy. Participate in the design, layout, reorganization and implementation of improved storage space, storage techniques and material handling systems. Analyze inventory levels to optimize turns, reduce on hand quantity, and disposition excess and/or obsolete materials. Avoid "stock out" or "equipment down" situations. Benchmark and continually educate on related activities within the industry to remain technically current of material handling and distribution techniques and trends. Assist and participate as a technical resource with the continual optimization of information systems, staffing, material flow, space-utilization, material handling systems, equipment and customer requirements. Successfully interact with a wide variety of groups and individuals. Professionally communicate with all levels within the company, suppliers and customers. Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned. You are: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management or equivalent experience 3+ years of related experience Ability to participate in review and design of associated business processes and systems to contribute detailed technical knowledge. Understanding of IT concepts and the ability to interface with IT staff. Strong communication skills both written and verbal in English are required. An ability to communicate effectively across a variety of audiences, cultures and individuals is mandatory. Demonstrate organizational and leadership skills with an emphasis on team building and motivational techniques.
