48-72 hours per pay period (two weeks), Baylor position (every weekend), Fridays and Saturdays 6:30pm-7:00am, with occasional Thursday overnights JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of ultrasound examinations utilizing specialized ultrasound equipment to provide diagnostic results for the purpose of patient care. Patients of all ages served. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Meet one of the following: Completion of a two-year allied health education program Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program Completion of a bachelor’s degree in the U.S. or Canada or foreign degree equivalent. Completion of Medical School or foreign medical degree equivalent EXPERIENCE: Vascular experience preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required per established policy. Must become ARDMS registered within training period of employment. Abdomen registry preferred. Diagnostic Medical Sonographers that rotate to the Breast Center must be RDMS credentialed in Breast Ultrasound (BR) with the ARDMS within 9 months.
