Job Details Description Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry. We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 30+ labs throughout the country. Our team is growing, and we are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Thoele Dental Laboratory in St. Cloud, MN for a Full-Time Dental-Lab Technician in the Crown & Bridge Metal Finish department. Previous experience is not necessary; we offer paid, hands-on training! The regular hours for this position are from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position: - Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist. - Check cases using Nobel or Hi-Noble that Nobel and high noble alloys have been weighed before finishing. - Remove excess metal/zirconia/Emax from sprues, flashing, etc. - Thin metal/zirconia/Emax to proper thickness at margins, contacts and on occlusal surfaces - Remove any bubbles or other imperfections in metal using proper tools and techniques - Check fit of coping or framework on dies and models to be sure margins, contacts, and occlusions are correct. - Check for correct pontic and connector design on bridge cases - Finish attachments such as PD', ERA's, OSO's, etc. for crown and bridge cases to be combined with removable partial dentures - Final polish metal in readiness for opaque application - Maintain work flow through department by finishing rush cases first and completing units as a department before lunch each day - All other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Required: - Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English - Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity - Detail oriented - Patience for repetitive tasks - Ability to work closely with others and share equally in the workload - Flexibility in dealing with varied work hours due to fluctuating workloads Minimum Education and Experience Required: - Required for DLT I, II, III: High school diploma or GED equivalent - DLT I: No experience required - DLT II: Must have 12 months of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician and is skilled in one or more of the tasks associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician. - DLT III: This technician has a minimum of 5 years of experience and is skilled in one or more of the skills associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician. Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used: - Hand-piece Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. - Required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach. - Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions. - Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation. - Ability to effectively communicate technical information. - Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail, and/or color.
