The Compliance Project Manager is responsible for analyzing business methods to ensure that operations comply with all local, state and federal laws, as well as requirements of any industries that we serve. The leader will also be responsible for deploying a variety of tools, processes and concepts that improve business performance and by ensuring employee actions and activities support HMH’s goals and the goals of the business units. This position will require travel between the four facilities: Shift Availability: 1st Shift; Monday - Friday; 8 hours Pay: up to $70,000 per year Benefits: - Climate controlled facility - Lots of overtime to be had but not mandatory - Medical, Dental & Vision for employee & family including domestic partners - 401k with company match - Tuition Reimbursement - PTO accrual starts immediately - Yearly shoe allowance - Referral Program Job Duties & Responsibilities: - Collaborate with leadership team to make sure that the entire company is aware of compliance requirements and issue including developing and delivering all necessary training for employees - Develop internal processes, controls and policies designed to ensure that all compliance needs are met - Work closely with department managers to review all departmental policies for compliance issues - Respond to official customer inquiries and correspondence with government agencies to ensure that they are complete and proper - Maintain all necessary licenses, registrations and certifications with regulatory agencies - Manage all onsite audits conducted by regulatory or certifying agencies, prepare businesses for audits, respond to any required corrective actions - Cross trains at least one backup in every compliance area - Partner with Business / Operations Managers in determining and executing the continuous improvement projects and priorities for the business - Lead continuous improvement projects resulting in improved and document processes - Assure accurate records are established and maintained. - Communicate progress of continuous improvement efforts. - Author and deliver as needed six sigma and continuous improvement training for employees - Ability to manage multiple schedules Manage all employee and business process compliance activity for the entire company and its business units including but not limited to: - Safety & Environmental (OSHA, MCPA, MET Council, and Emergency Response) - Hazardous Waste & Pollution Control - ITAR - NIST & CMMC - SBA & SAM.GOV Education and Experience Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in business or related area plus 5 year industrial experience; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge. Previous experience working in a plant/manufacturing environment a plus. - Compliance Experience, Continuous Improvement, Quality Focus, Problem Solving, Regulatory Research, Documentation Skills, Listening, Resolving Conflict, Analyzing Information, Multi-tasking, Attention to Detail, Authoring and Delivery of Training - Ability to interact with all levels of the organization - Proven ability to deliver on commitments - Working knowledge of manufacturing operations including machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, finishing and supplier interface - Strong computer skills including ERP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access). - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong attention to detail. - Understanding of the aircraft, defense and medical industries - ISO and ASQ Systems - Able to work independently About Elk River Machine Company: We have tackled the complex, custom metal fabrication that other companies won’t touch, as well as large contract volume metal manufacturing. Our manufacturing space is located in Elk River, MN. We can perform virtually all metal, steel fabrication, machining, cladding, welding, finished processes, and assembly processes on site.
