Responsibilities of a CDL/LTL Driver include loading freight in an organized manner to effectively use space, distributing the load, preventing damage to freight, delivering LTL/palletized shipments to consignees at commercial and residential locations, picking-up LTL/palletized orders dispatched daily, and maintaining the vehicle appearance and cleanliness on a daily basis. Drivers will utilize a hand-held computer to document deliveries and pick-ups as well as complete bill-of-lading paperwork. All routes return home on a daily basis. Additional duties may include unloading freight, sorting freight, and washing fleet vehicles. Qualified CDL/LTL Drivers must be able to operate a commercial motor vehicle with a manual transmission, demonstrate good customer service skills and map reading abilities, have an acceptable driving record, and possess a valid Class A Driver's License with the doubles endorsement, be at least 21 years of age, and be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen. The physical requirements for this position include lifting 10-20 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally throughout each shift; however, most palletized freight of varying weights is loaded/unloaded utilizing material handling equipment.
