The offerings include topics geared toward career, education, finance, leadership, and personal goals. Reports to Dr. Lamesha Brown, Director of Advising, Testing, & Career Services and Susan Brunn, Academic Advisor Responsibilities The Campus & Community Resources Intern will assist with various aspects of Student Success Week, Advising Day, and other workshops scheduled throughout the semester/academic year. Specific responsibilities will include: - Researching, developing, and improving Student Success Week, Advising Day, and opportunities for expansion. - Assisting in developing and facilitating presentations and activities. - Participating in planning and leading events and workshops. - Researching other colleges of similar size to learn of student activities and support sessions. - Serving as a coordinator between students, staff, faculty, and the community. - Other tasks and duties as assigned. Required Qualifications - Currently enrolled in a graduate program. - Available to serve as an intern for one semester for a minimum of 100 hours. - Experience with student program development. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Knowledge of and ability to use multiple forms of technology (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite and Zoom). - Experience working with diverse groups of people and student populations. Preferred Qualifications - Available to serve as an intern for at least one academic school year (including summer semester). - High level of comfort with presenting to groups via face-to-face and/or Zoom sessions. - Experience with conducting higher education research. - Experience with or knowledge of SCTCC or community and technical college settings. - Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Other Requirements Intern Expectations - Attend a mandatory training. - Participate in Student Success Week and Advising Day during the semester/academic year, as schedule permits. - Engage in multiple formats of public speaking, including via face-to-face and/or Zoom sessions. - Complete a formal performance evaluation and provide feedback about your experience at SCTCC.
