Position Summary The Budget Coordinator reports to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis with the primary responsibility to coordinate faculty appointment and budget data within Academic Affairs to support operations, reporting, and decision making within the division. In addition, the Coordinator will support, monitor, and analyze budget activities within Academic Affairs. The Coordinator will assist the Director in planning and analysis for the Academic Affairs Division working collaboratively with colleagues in Academic Affairs, the CSB & SJU Business Offices, and Human Resources. Responsibilities - Faculty Compensation Budget Planning Support - Provide support for the Academic Dean, Registrar, and Academic Department Chairs in the development of annual staffing and course offering plans. - Prepare faculty appointment and salary information in support of faculty contract generation - Serve as the primary Academic Affairs contact for Human Resources & Payroll for faculty contracts - Assist the Director in monitoring the faculty salary budget and providing regular updates to the Academic Affairs Leadership team. - Faculty Information Management: Working in conjunction with the Academic Affairs staff, Registrar’s office, and Human Resources, maintain faculty information in the appropriate systems to support various reporting and analytic activities. - Work collaboratively with the Dean of the Faculty and the Faculty Development and Research Committee (FDRC) to monitor and coordinate all faculty development funding - Assist the FDRC with the collection of Sabbatical Requests - Assist the Academic Planning & Budgeting Committee with the annual collection and prioritization of academic department capital requests. - Establish and monitor Faculty Startup funding accounts. - Project and track Academic Department course fee and corresponding supply budgets. - Assist the Director with endowment & center budget monitoring & development. - Work with the CSB and SJU business offices to monitor appropriate department chair & coordinator budget access and approval - Respond to ad hoc budget-related requests from departments within Academic Affairs. - Assist the Director with other ad hoc analysis as needed. Qualifications - Postsecondary education or related commensurate experience in a professional work environment - Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality - Strong attention to detail, accuracy in record keeping, and strong organizational skills - Ability to effectively collaborate with a variety of institutional partners - Effective written and oral communication skills - Ability to work independently and to manage multiple priorities - Experience in data management and reporting - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s Degree - Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related technical field - Knowledge of budget management, financial analysis, and financial modeling - Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data query tools - Professional experience in higher education - Experience with Banner student information system or Cognos ad hoc reporting system To Apply Applications are accepted online by clicking "Apply" above. AFLAC SUPPLEMENTAL INSURANCE This voluntary plan offers an additional level of financial protection for you and your family in the event of a serious accident or illness. LIFE INSURANCE CSB/SJU provides a Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) policy to employees. This insurance is effective on the first of the month following date of hire. The amount of term insurance provided is based on your annual salary as follows: Salary Life Insurance $0-$20,000 $50,000 $20,001-$37,500 $75,000 $37,501-$50,000 $90,000 $50,001+ $100,000 Employer provided life insurance in excess of $50,000 is subject to imputed income tax (a tax on the value of the premium). You may also purchase additional life insurance in increments of one, two, three, or four times your annual salary. There is also a dependent life insurance package available. LONG-TERM DISABILITY After one year of benefit eligible employment, CSB/SJU provides disability coverage in the event of an illness or injury that prevents you from working. This plan provides a benefit that equals 60% of your basic monthly earnings to a maximum monthly benefit of $11,000. This benefit may be payable, provided the employee is unable to perform the usual and customary duties of his/her occupation. VACATION Paid vacation is accrued based upon FTE and the number of years employed. Vacation is cumulative from year to year to a maximum of 240 hours. Employees working 100% time receive the following: Years of Service Full-time annual accrual 0 to end of 2nd year 10 days beginning 3rd to end of 5th year 13 days beginning 6th to end of 10th year 16 days beginning 11th year and beyond 20 days FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT These plans allow employees to set aside part of their salary on a pretax basis to pay for IRS approved expenses. VISION PLAN This voluntary plan offers affordable vision coverage for routine eye exams, eyeglass lenses and frames, and contact lenses. Discounts on hearing exams and hearing aids are also included. TUITION REMISSION Tuition remission is an educational benefit provided by CSB/SJU. A full time employee and spouse (if applicable) are eligible for tuition free educational benefits the first full semester after six months of employment. The payment of special fees is the responsibility of the employee. Full time employees may enroll for one undergraduate course per term, which includes summer; up to a maximum of 2 courses per year. There is also a tuition remission program for dependent children of full time employees. This program provides a financial resource to a son or daughter for meeting the tuition costs of undergraduate education. Eligibility begins the fall or spring semester following 5 years (60 months) of continuous full-time employment. CSB/SJU will grant tuition remission the next full semester to the dependent, providing the dependent meets the academic requirements. There are also two consortia programs in which CSB/SJU participate where employees' children may apply for scholarships to attend other colleges/universities. PARENTAL LEAVE A paid leave (up to 15 days) will be granted to eligible employees upon the birth or adoption of a child, pro-rated based on FTE. New employees are eligible for this benefit after twelve months of employment. SICK LEAVE Full-time employees earn up to 9 days of sick leave per year, pro-rated based on FTE. Sick leave is cumulative from year to year up to a maximum of 720 hours (90 days). Employees may also use accumulated personal sick leave to care for ill family members. EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free counseling resource available to all employees and immediate family members. EAP counselors can help you identify problems and concerns regarding family, marriage, emotions, alcohol or drugs, financial difficulties, legal issues and job stress. All contacts between you, your family, and the EAP are provided as a benefit from CSB/SJU and are kept strictly confidential. RETIREMENT Defined Contribution Plan CSB/SJU provides a retirement program for all qualified full time employees. The program is administered by Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA). Enrollment in the retirement plan will be effective the first day of the month following the date of hire unless the employee elects to opt-out. TUITION ASSISTANCE The tuition assistance plan is an educational grant provided by CSB/SJU to a qualified son or daughter of a full time employee toward meeting the tuition costs at Saint John's Preparatory School. The dependent must meet the eligibility criteria in order to receive this grant.
