Job Summary Provide skilled administrative and secretarial support to the County Attorney's Office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities These examples of typical duties do not include all possible tasks for this classification and do not limit the assignment of related tasks. Regular attendance according to the department's approved work schedule is required for all Sherburne County positions. Provide secretarial support that requires general understanding of content and technical procedures involved in the preparation and processing of legal documents including drafting and typing correspondence and legal documents; including but not limited to: court motions and complaints, petitions, orders, briefs, discovery, witness lists, exhibit lists, and E-filing appropriate court documents. Open, establish, and maintain files for court cases, including updating the case management system, and follow-up to assure case file is complete and accurate. Receive, review, and process all incoming E-Service, reports, mail and referrals; contact others if clarification is needed; maintain prepared files for each attorney's daily caseload; check file for completeness. Update case management system. Maintain court and magistrate calendars for attorneys by documenting all notices; update calendar daily; contact court and defense attorney to schedule or reschedule hearings; review cases in a timely manner prior to court hearing; review cases after court. Assist with answering, responding, and screening incoming calls; communicate with county employees, law enforcement agencies, general public, attorneys, and other county, state, and federal offices in obtaining information.
